EMERGENCY COVID-19 APPEAL
Background: During this Covid-19 crisis, Learning Disability Charity, Kisharon, like many UK charities, was facing huge challenges and financial strain. With its usual opportunities for fundraising gone overnight, it still needed to carry on providing vital frontline services to the children and adults it support with complex learning disabilities.
Approach: We worked with Kisharon’s Fundraising Team on an emergency 36 hour Charidy campaign. Our focus was on strong, impactful messaging, clearly setting out the need. We devised a plan to ‘remotely’ direct a film to lead the appeal, working within the confines of social distancing and with the people Kisharon supports. Our clear set of filming guidelines for key workers, parents and those with learning disabilities, and multiple phone calls with our lovely Producer Andrea, meant everyone was able to film themselves effectively enough for us to cut everything together from the safety of our editor’s home!
Outcome: Incredibly proud that within the 36 hours the campaign ran, Kisharon far exceeded its fundraising goal, raising an incredible £1.3 million, and securing the provision of its services for the rest of the year.
