Strategic framework to develop a compelling approach and story for responsible business

The Challenge

CGI is one of the largest IT and business consulting services firms in the world. Verity London has worked with CGI in the UK since 2008, becoming a trusted partner providing strategic communications advice and developing compelling, dedicated content to tell its corporate responsibility story. 

In 2021, CGI in the UK asked Verity London to help develop an overarching responsible business approach and story that aligns with the overall global organisation’s messaging.  They also wanted compelling communication to enable them to embed this approach at the heart of everything they do; and creating rich, engaging content for internal and external communication channels. 

Our Approach

We kicked off with an immersion and insights phase.  As well as reviewing their existing “Social Value” and “CSR” messaging, we led a series of facilitated workshops with senior leaders across departments to understand their ambition, commitments, and existing activity.

Using the insights from these workshops, we defined a strategic, co-ordinated approach for CGI focussed on three distinct pillars: Climate, People and Communities; as well as an equally important foundation of Responsible Operations.

This was accompanied by an overarching narrative, explaining what being a responsible business means to CGI in the UK and clarifying the terminology to be used to communicate to key audiences.

Building on this, we then delivered a comprehensive review of CGI’s existing website content and produced a detailed roadmap to integrate the messaging and content across its website in a more comprehensive way, showcasing its role at the heart of the business.

A series of case studies and a Social Value Review highlighted the impressive work CGI in the UK does to benefit both society and the environment.
